Since the medicines were on their way to Caracas and Pastor Yuris was doing well the hospital released him, yesterday, Saturday, April 2. Yuris and Karla are at a pastor's home waiting for the arrival for the medicines. Yuris and Karla live 8-10 hours from Caracas so it would be too far to go home and wait. They are hoping the medicines arrive before the expected date of April 6 because they miss their little girl who they left home with friends and family.
Karla shared with me today, Saturday, that they learned that someone broke into their house and stole some money and electronics. This is so sad to add to what this couple has been through already but they are trusting in the Lord and expressed that they are so grateful for what God has done for them and that He is their strength and help.
God used Pastor Yuris and Karla while they were at the hospital to pray with many patients, and won a young man to the Lord that had a bullet wound to his throat. They said they made new friends and are thankful for the opportunity to witness.
While we were living in Venezuela Yuris wanted to come volunteer at the camp and work with us and four Mission Corps. Volunteers. It was a great summer and one our family will never forget. Yuris is a young man of God and always strives to do God's will. When he smiles the place around him lights up and you can feel the his pastoral warmth and love of God. Pray for Yuris's family as they pastor the church in their community. Pray that Yuris will always be able to find the medicine that he has been prescribed for life and that he will continue to heal from his surgery. Praise the Lord!
