Kyle and Jana met in Ecuador while they were volunteers helping with Work and Witness and the NILI program. They are both former NILI students. They were a great help in translating and interacting with the people. The team was served a food called Miata, which was whole fish and chicken wrapped in banana leaves and cooked over a open fire. With a speciality of shish kabob worms pictured on the right side. Banana leaves were run through the fire to sanitize them and then put on the table as a tablecloth The workers showed the team that a nice cool dip in the river after lunch is refreshing. The school let the team use their facility for classes with the children. It was easy to fall in love with these kids and share the stories of the Bible with them. The fields are so ripe with harvest here as there are many older children in this community that are looking for something or someone to lead them. The children on the left are showing their salvation bracelets they received after inviting Christ into their hearts. All the children said the prayer of salvation.
